The value of Kostyantyn Ushynsky’s didactic theses of the contemporary

pedagogics of Ukraine is analyzed in the article. Kostyantyn Ushynsky’s basic learning principles are rethought: the scientific principle, the principle of accessibility, visibility, awareness and activity, systematic character, strength of knowledge, nationality, the combination of interest and responsibility. The relevance of these principles for a modern national education of Ukraine is determined.
