The article presents the stages of development of the discipline "Basics of Life Safety" (OBZHD) in Ukraine, shows the evolution in the formation of its tasks in the national educational thoughts (including ideas K.D. Ushуnskіі), designated analysis problems and perspectives of teacher training in the basics of life safety in the context of the concept of modern education.
