The article analyzes literary and pedagogical heritage of the prominent Ukrainian teacher Konstantin Ushinsky. Defined conceptual views of the scientist concerning the preparation of future teachers and marked ideas that can be extrapolated into the system of professional education of teachers of Ukrainian language and literature. Based on an analytical review of journalistic and literary-critical publications of the particular features of the individual style of the teacher.
