The role of K.Ushinsky in theoretical bases approachment of Ukranian national school was revealed in the article. In particular, K.Ushinsky’s views on the problem of aims, tasks, essence of folk school, value of the mother tongue, the role of public in creation of national school and national education were described by the author.
